Grifo is a serif typeface designed by Portuguese type designer Rui Abreu. It was released through his foundry R-Typography in 2016. The design features sharp, triangular serifs described by Abreu as talons, which is fitting as Grifo is the Portuguese word for Griffin. The family is available in three optical sizes: S for setting text, M for setting headlines and L for setting large display type. Each optical size is available in five weights with matching italics, making Grifo an extremely versatile family that can be used equally well for both text and display usage.
