Souvenir is a rounded serif typeface originally designed by Morris Fuller Benton in 1914. It was later redrawn by Ed Benguiat in 1967 and then published by International Typeface Corporation as ITC Souvenir in 1971. Due to its rampant overuse in the 1970s, ITC Souvenir is notable as one of the most hated typefaces by designers active in that time period—I like to think of it as the Comic Sans of the 70s. Although now I think it takes on more of a fun, kitschy and retro feel, so maybe it will make a comeback.
