Source Serif Pro is a Transitional serif typeface designed by Frank Grießhammer in 2014 for Adobe. Adobe released it under the SIL Open Font License, so it is available for free on Google Fonts. Although created as a companion to Source Sans Pro, Source Serif Pro draws inspiration from a completely different time period. It’s influenced by the work of Pierre Simon Fournier from the eighteenth century as opposed to the twentieth century American gothics that inspired the design of Source Sans Pro.
